Jio Phone – The Cheapest 4G Phone Ready to Hit the Market

At long last the wait is over, Jio phone is entirely set to hit the market in September. The phone will be useable for Pre-bookings from August 24 onwards. As per company it will be available on first come first serve basis.

Mukesh Ambani at the company’s 40th Annual General Meeting held on 21st July, announced much awaited Jio phone under the name “India ka Smartphone”. This phone comes at an effective price of ₹0 which makes it the cheapest and affordable 4G phone available in the market, though you need to pay ₹1500 as a security deposit just to prevent any misuse. This is completely refundable after three years on the return of the device. The Company has already touched more than 100 million customers in just 11 months. Now company aims at adding up those 50 crore users to its network who still uses a basic feature phone and end up paying more for voice calls and SMS than those with smartphones; it costs them around ₹150 – ₹200 for just 150 minutes of calling.

This phone is built under the Prime Minister’s “Made in India” vision. This phone aims at connecting those 50 crore users with the power of FREE VOICE CALL and UNLIMITED DATA. Now it’s their time for DATAGIRI.

FEATURES –

Even at this price, Jio phone comes with a great pile of attractive features, some of the features have been shown in the above image. Aside from that, it supports all the Jio apps like Jio Cinema, Jio Music, Jio chat, Jio4Gvoice, and preloaded NAMO app. JioPhone is said to run on KAI OS, which is a forked OS version of the Firefox OS. It supports 22 Indian languages. It even takes voice commands which make it a complete user-friendly phone. You can give voice commands by simply pressing the center button and saying what you need to do, like making calls to someone or texting, and it does it all. The demonstration of its voice command feature and other features have already been presented at the launch of this phone by Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani. The Company is likewise gearing up to add an NFC payment option by the end of this year through a software update.

How to pre-book Jio Phone?

There are two options to place your booking, either online or via SMS.

Online – Visit their official site www.jio.com and show your interest by clicking on the “keep me posted” tab. Customer will be steered to the portal asking information like name, email address, phone number and pin code, then submit it. Instantly you will receive a confirmation mail on your provided email id. You will be notified about the phone once it’s available and will be delivered by September on first come first serve basis.

Via SMS – Type JP <your area pin code> <jio store code near you> and send it to 7021170211.

Existing subscribers can also book through My Jio app.

To sum it up, Reliance Jio already proved its worth by giving its customers free voice calls and data for around 7 long months. Broke records after records and proved everyone wrong by offering plans at rates never offered before. Now it is geared up to provide the cheapest 4G phone to every interested Indian. Interested people can go for it without having any second thought about the quality as the company always served what they foretold.
